Meet The Founders

Matthew and Lia Wall are the founders of Emerald Developments Pty Ltd, and locals to the Brisbane area.

Matthew is a Qualified Carpenter with over 17 years of experience working within the construction industry, and 12 years as a Company Director. Matthew also owns and operates a carpentry company adjacent to Emerald Developments. Lia has 12 years experience within the Corporate Private Sector, predominately in Finance & Process Implementation. In 2024, Lia was announced Winner of the HIA Queensland Young Achiever/Trailblazer award for women in the industry and a Finalist for the 2024 HIA Professional Woman of the Year award.

Emerald Developments is a family-owned and operated building company specialising in new and custom residential homes within the South-East Queensland and Wide-Bay Burnett area. Founded in April 2020, Emerald Developments is as a self-funded company, having completed over 100+ successful projects over the last four years. Emerald Developments has a beautiful display home located at 11 Clerke Street, Burpengary East and has recently secured its position in its third display village in the prestigious Estate in North Brisbane – Kinma Valley. Matthew, Lia and their team at Emerald Developments have strong relationships with over 150 industry leading suppliers and trades and accepts a maximum of 85 projects a year, to ensure they can prioritise a tailored, quality, efficient service for each and every home owner from beginning to end.

Matthew and Lia were Finalists for the Brisbane Young Entrepreneur Award in 2023 and 2024 consecutively, for their work with Emerald Developments. They are extremely proud and passionate of their work and contribution to the construction industry.
